Gateway to the North Islay Distilleries
Persabus is a working hill farm, bordering Caol ila Distilliery.
Ardnahoe Distillery and Bunnahabhain Distillery are just along the single track road that runs through the farm. The south Islay Distilleries are a half hour car ride away from the farm.
Persabus has been farmed by the Fletcher family for over one hundred years.
A variety of accommodation is on offer at Persabus
Persabus Cottage and Persabus Millhouse are two traditional stone cottages offering the option of comfortable self catering or bed and breakfast accommodation, depending on your party's requirements. The cottages each have three bedrooms, and each cottage can accommodate up to six guests.
Alternatively you can stay in the farmhouse bed and breakfast suite, situated in a seperate wing of the main farmhouse.
The farmhouse bed and breakfast suite can accommodate lone travellers or parties of up to four people. The rooms offer the luxury of super kingsize double beds for couples, or can be split to offer two single beds in each. Each room has ensuite shower and toilet facilities. There is also a small sitting room with TV, referred to as the 'whisky snug'. With four leather winged back armchairs, it is the perfect place to sit and enjoy a dram, after a day spent out on the hills or exploring the huge sandy beaches of Islay.
Breakfast rolls filled with bacon, egg and potato scone, or croissants with jam, or toast and marmalade, along with a pot of freshly ground coffee or tea, are delivered to the sitting room each morning, giving you privacy and a relaxing start to your day.
We offer longer breaks as well as one night stays and short breaks. Please contact us for more information,
Persabus has facilities to accommodate parties of up to sixteen people, but is equally comfortable for lone travellers.
The accommodation on offer is the ideal base for families, bird watchers, wildlife enthusiasts and whisky visitors. Barnacle Geese, Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Corncrakes and deer are among the regular guests welcomed to the farm.
