IsleBebytheSea is a shepherd hut type cabin, decorated with a cosy traditional Hebridean theme using wood and tweed, in a vintage character. Bespoke built in 2017, it benefits from modern comforts, hot water and of course, electricity!
The hut is an open plan / studio set up, sleeping 2. It has 1 full size double bed and a separate snug, set up as bunks, with a short ladder to access the snug on the top bunk. It offers a bespoke crafted, equipped kitchenette with single hob plate, fridge with ice box, combi microwave, baby butler sink, cookware and vintage crockery.
There is a cute little, but fully equipped WC and shower room with electric shower.
Due to the open location and fierce Winters we get in the Outer Hebrides, we opted for sealed cottage style windows, these are very cosy, offer amazing uninterrupted sea views, and are finished with Harris tweed blinds.
There is under bed luggage storage available to guests.
Mobile phone reception is patchy here, it can drop. But we offer free WIFI.
There are a radio and books for your use.
Your hut is fully insulated and has a heater if you need it, and a fan for the hot days.
The hut is located at the bottom of my garden on a working croft, opening onto the sea shore via a private access. The hut is set 50 meters away from the road, and is on a main bus route. This is a rural location, in the North Lochs area of the Isle of Lewis, which is approx 15 min drive from Stornoway. Our location is central to exploring Lewis and Harris, close to the Hebridean Way. IsleBebytheSea is approx a 40 min drive from Harris. Our surroundings are mainly hills and lochs, the location is ideal for hikers, fishers and kayakers,
Whilst this accomodation is fenced off, please be aware we have cats, dogs, hens and horses near your accommodation.
This is primarily a working croft with large animals, electric fence, deep ditches and some heavy machinery nearby, so sadly we are not suitable for children. Sorry if this doesn’t suit your needs. Please also note the hut is accessed via 2 steps.
EV charging unit available, payment for use on departure.
