Howe of Torbeg is a small campsite in the heart of Royal Deeside. We offer tranquil camping in style with 4 wooden Glamping Pods & a Shepherd's Hut, all with beautiful views and supported by environmentally conscious on-site facilities.

Small is beautiful.....Set in just 1 acre of land, surrounded by open farmland and birch woodlands, we offer tranquil camping in style with 4 wooden Glamping Pods & an off-grid Shepherd's Hut.
Perfectly located in the Cairngorms countryside, & only 5 miles from the picturesque village of Ballater with its shops, restaurants & cafes.
Our Pods & Shepherd's Hut are all fully insulated and all come with cosy bedding & towels. They are the perfect cosy Glamping option, in a beautiful rural setting within the Cairngorms National Park.
Our Shepherd's Hut is a unique off-grid accommodation experience, with an indoor wood burning stove and solar lighting. It is our largest accommodation and is perfect for a romantic getaway. It can also accommodate a family with up to 2 children under the age of 16.
The Wash House is our fully heated shower block, with 2 self-contained wood panelled shower rooms, each with a low flush toilet and a sink. Our showers are gas powered, providing lots of lovely hot water on demand. Two covered outside sinks are available for washing up, also with free hot water.
Guests can access great walks and beautiful Scottish countryside straight from their Pod, whilst being only 5 miles from the picturesque village of Ballater with its shops, cafes & restaurants.
Our small site allows our visitors to relax in the beauty of Royal Deeside and the Cairngorms National Park and access all they have to offer, and is a great base for exploring the local area or further afield.....or just a pleasant place to sit and while away a few days. We have excellent access to hiking, biking and snowsports as well as all the tourist attractions that Royal Deeside has to offer.
We are also situated on the A939, part of the Snow Roads, a 90 mile route which traverses the highest public road in Britain, taking you through some of the most outstanding landscapes in the Eastern Cairngorms. The Snow Roads are slow roads. Why not take your time and spend a night with us along the way.
