Honeysuckle
Cosy detached one bedroom cottage with superb private wood burning hot tub. Honeysuckle is located on Outfield Farm, a tiny farm with instant access to the countryside and walks. Located 20 minutes from the city centres of Dundee and Perth, Outfield Farm is a relaxing rural wellness retreat with 3 cottages on site.
Cosy cottage for 2 with private wood burning hot tub. This wood clad cottage is in the countryside near the villages of Abernyte and Kinnaird, close to the cities of Dundee and Perth. On site facilities include this wonderful wood burning hot tub which is just outside your sitting room and guests can help themselves to as much wood as they need for free. Guests in this cottage then have access to our shared facilities: wellness gym (light gym equipment), wood fired sauna, games room and tennis court with summerhouse. Outfield Farm has evolved into a rural wellness retreat where you can get away from it all, light your fires, for the hot tub or the sauna and just relax and unwind as the facilities heat up. It is all about slow living and recharging. We are in the countryside but only 20 minutes by car from the cities of Dundee or Perth. We have our Covid-19 cleaning protocols in place and you will receive documentation stating what we do and what we expect guests to do.
This detached cottage can sleep 2 in a king size bed. It offers cosy fire side comfort with its open fire and wi-fi. For the warmer months it has a large patio and grassy area on which to relax. It faces south and west. Located in rural Perthshire but within 20 minutes of Perth or Dundee city centres and all the culture, shopping and restaurants that a city brings - please note we now have the V&A museum in Dundee now. The cottage is small as it sleeps only 2. The front door takes you into the sitting room with its open fire. All other rooms are off the sitting room. The kitchen has a solid Ercol table for dining, this can be moved through to the sitting room for fireside dining. The bathroom has a good sized walk in shower. The bedroom has a king size bed (UK king size is 5 foot wide). Outside you have a large patio area and garden furniture. There is a gravel driveway and some grass where you can dine under the pine tree and watch the sun go down as it is faces west towards our orchard.
All guests are able to have shared use of the summer house, tennis court games room and of course our wellness gym and wood fired sauna . We have a list too of walks in the area, many starting from the farm itself where we have dedicated paths to follow. The surrounding garden area around Honeysuckle, Pitmiddle and Outfield is not fenced – so pet owners need to be aware of that – you cannot let your pet out unattended and we have either sheep or ponies in the surrounding fileds. The properties are on a very small farm accessed via a farm road.
We have tried to be as environmentally friendly as we can with our holiday houses. In Honeysuckle we have reclaimed flooring and an open fire. Our private water supply comes off the hill and is filtered in our water treatment area before going to the houses. All our fixtures and fittings are sourced locally.
In order to increase our green credentials even more we put up a small 18 m wind turbine on the hill behind the holiday houses in 2014. It is only an 11 kw turbine but we hope that after its first year we will have generated enough kw hours to cover our on site electrical needs. You can see the turbine from Honeysuckle.
Changeover day is flexible but we prefer not to do a Sunday. Flooring is reclaimed wood throughout, with rugs. Heaters are wall mounted and electric. Private water supply which goes through a high tech filter system although bottled water is available free of charge if preferred – it is recommended for anyone with low immunity. Cottage is detached and located on a farm with other properties close by. Owners live on site. We now have a small wind turbine (as of March 2014) on the hill above Honeysuckle. It can be seen from the patio.
On site we have 3 properties, all with wi-fi in the living areas. The “L” shaped steading building behind Honeysuckle can be one large 5 bedroom property or two smaller 2 and 3 bedroom properties. In total we can accommodate 12 guests in the 3 cottages so we are suitable for groups.
