Sustainability
At Highfield House we encourage an eco-friendly approach. The property is heated through an air sourced heat pump which keeps it cosy throughout the Scottish winters. The hot water is also heated using the heat pump.
We have a heat composting bin in the garden for all food waste. This produces compost much quicker than a standard compost bin. You can put any food waste in here and a food caddy is provided in the kitchen. We encourage guests to recycle using the bins provided.
We use environmentally friendly products for many cleaning and washing activities.
Buying locally produced food and drink is also something we encourage (plus it’s very tasty!), please speak to your host for recommendations. Guests will receive a welcome basket with a selection of locally sourced items.
Technology
The property has wireless internet with speeds ranging between 11-14 mb. There is a Toshiba 32 inch smart tv downstairs and Panasonic Viera 42 inch tv upstairs with Amazon Fire Stick. In the kitchen there is an Amazon Echo available to use with your own amazon account..
