Discover Dabton House, a newly renovated Georgian country house set on the picturesque Queensberry Estate in Dumfriesshire. Dabton House is the perfect venue for celebrations and holidaying with family and friends, sleeping up to 22 guests.
Accommodation
Dabton has been thoughtfully renovated to showcase the timeless period features within the elegant, historic house. There are 11 beautifully appointed ensuite bedrooms and several spaces in which to relax and unwind. You can stay on a self-catering basis, in complete privacy, or our chef can provide meals for selected parts of your stay, or if you prefer, let us arrange everything and provide a fully catered package.
Living Spaces
From the spacious and welcoming entrance hall to the elegant dining room with space for 22 guests, Dabton House provides a sense of occasion without feeling too formal. After dinner, guests can retire to the period drawing room with its baby grand piano, enjoy a few frames of snooker in the games room, or just relax with a good book in the library. To truly unwind, guests can enjoy the modern sauna, or take advantage of our carefully selected local suppliers and indulge in a massage or facial in the treatment room.
Bedrooms
The beautifully appointed bedrooms have been sensitively decorated with a warm colour palette and include thoughtful details acknowledging the origins of Dabton House as a family home. Each room is named with a connection to the Buccleuch family, celebrating the homes rich history and heritage.
After a busy day exploring, relax in the sumptuous king or super king beds. For convenience, super kings can be split into two large single beds if required.
Our ground floor bedroom is fully accessible for wheelchair users and for guests who may have limited mobility.
All 11 bedrooms are ensuite with either walk-in showers, baths with showers or both. The ground floor bedroom includes a wet room.
Gardens
Dabton House boasts magnificent gardens for guests to enjoy. Explore four acres of formal gardens nestled amongst 27 acres of mixed woodland.
Guest can also enjoy summer evenings on the elegant, paved terrace, with outdoor seating and BBQ facilities.

While it would be tempting to simply spend a few tranquil days in Dabton House and its gardens alone, the surrounding area is home to some of Scotland’s most beautiful rural landscapes. Dabton is conveniently located only 10 minutes from the majestic Drumlanrig Castle, where guests can delve into the fascinating history of the Buccleuch and Douglas families, be inspired by the world class art collection or explore the Victorian gardens and wider estate.
The wider Dumfries and Galloway region has much to offer from its beautiful landscape and unique activities – from water sports to Alpaca trekking, to its rich cultural history and links with Robert Burns.
