Chasing The Moon
Chasing The Moon is a hidden treasure that sits on a plateau overlooking one of the most spectacular views on the Isle of Skye, Rubha nam Brathaerean, or Brothers Point. Self-catering, three double bedrooms with ensuite, luxury accommodation, pets welcome.
Sitting halfway between the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing, in the north east of the Isle of Skye, Chasing The Moon Skye is ideally situated to explore the drama of the truly spectacular Trotternish Peninsula. Only 6 miles (10km) away from the thrilling views of Storr and the Quiraing and 10 miles (16 km) to Staffin where you can explore a mesolithic hunter gatherer site dating back the 7th millennium BC, the location of this property covers the best that the Isle of Skye has to offer.
If you take the short walk to the pebbled beach below the house, you will encounter sea-lions lazing on the rocks and birds of prey circling over Brothers Point. Dozens of giant dinosaur footprints were recently discovered on this beach providing rare evidence of dinosaur evolution in the middle Jurassic epoch. Even to the dis-interested, it is impossible to walk out at low tide and not see these remarkable fossil prints, and imagine dinosaurs standing on the same spot as you over 170 million years ago! Continue onto to Brothers Point and look in wonder over to the Isle of Raasay to the Scottish mainland beyond. Here you will feel very blessed that you have made it to one of the best-kept secrets in Skye.
The view from the lounge looks out over the Sound of Raasay to the Torridon Hills on the Scottish west coast mainland. From this spot you will experience some of the most stunning sunrises and sunsets that Scotland has to offer.
Offering accommodation for up to 6 people, with 3 double rooms, all with en suite shower rooms and a super king or king-sized bed, there is plenty of space to relax and recover after a long day exploring. The master bedroom also has a free-standing bath. Fresh linen and towels are all provided with luxury hand wash and shower products.
The living area is open plan into the dining area and kitchen, with comfortable furniture throughout, and a wood-burning stove which always brings warmth and delight whether needed or not.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and oven with induction hob. There are plenty of good quality cooking pots and materials to encourage guests to make the property a home from home, and take advantage of the breathtaking views from the dining table.
Equipped with free Wi-Fi, free view TV, and a Playstation 4 with games and DVD’s, there is something for those who do not yet appreciate the value of a good view. The PS4 allows you to use your Netflix account.
Dogs are welcome, there are bowls and beds and plenty of dog towels. There is an outside hose for washing them, but you will need to keep them on a lead when walking down to the beach. There is a fence around the property.
This is somewhere you will want to spend time, it offers a great space for socialising, relaxing and exploring, right in the middle of Skye’s most spectacular scenery.
Above all this is a magical place, you will feel the history, the experience, and the drama of Scotland at its very best. Whether you are 5 or 95, you will be gripped and enchanted by what Chasing The Moon has to offer.
