For the ultimate in luxury B&B accommodation, look no further than “Brackness House”, nestled away in the idyllic and historic fishing village of Anstruther, in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland.
More like a small & private luxury boutique hotel than a traditional B&B, this very recently established bed & breakfast is a magnificent and imposing traditional stone built Victorian Villa (built 1860) which is home to Robert & Catriona Nee.
A warm and friendly “Anster welcome” is guaranteed to greet everyone who visits.
Guests can choose from luxurious double / twin or family rooms all with extremely spacious and sumptuous en suite / private facilities with equally spacious walk-in rain shower.
Brackness House is only a couple of minutes walk from the harbour, marina and beach area and is ideally situated for those who would like to take advantage of the many walks along the coastal paths to the other unique and pretty fishing villages, dotted along this beautiful and unspoilt coastline (which is actually one of the driest and sunniest parts of the UK).

Ideal for golfers too, St. Andrews – the home of golf, is only a 15 minute drive away. You can choose to play many of the courses there and surrounding areas. Anstruther itself boasts a 9 hole links course which features “The Rockies”, the toughest par 3 in the UK (voted by Todays Golf). Crail (the 7th oldest club in the world – founded 1786), is only a few minutes drive away and hosts 2 challenging 18 hole links courses. Kingsbarns Links is also a very short drive away. It proudly co-hosts the annual prestigious European Alfred Dunhill Championship along with The Old Course, St. Andrews and Carnoustie, which is also not too far.
After a day of golf or a refreshing coastal walk, why not treat yourself to a fish supper from the world famous (and voted UK Chip Shop Of The Year) Anstruther Fish Bar. This is only a 2 minute walk from the house, which is very handy when you`re hungry!

Days Out
We specialise in local and Scottish tours and Robert would be happy to take you on your very own personalised bespoke day out. This could include a visit to the historic capital city of Edinburgh, golf days out, theatre visits, local tours including a must do distillery visit, or the “Scottish Surprise” tour which gives you a flavour of our beautiful country and scenery in a day!
Another worthwhile day out would be a visit to The Isle of May. The May Princess sails there from Anstruther almost every day from 1st April to 30th September.
The May Island, as it is known locally, lies only 5 miles off the coast of Anstruther. It is an important National Nature Reserve Isle and is home to an incredible array of wildlife, with up to 250,000 seabirds including Guillemots, Razorbills, Shags and around 120,000 Puffins! Also about 150 seals live all year round on the island. Porpoise and dolphin and the odd whale can sometimes even be seen. The Island can lay claim to having Scotland's oldest Bird Observatory, which was founded in 1934. It also has the remains of a 12th Century Monastery built in memory of St Adrian martyred on the island by Norsemen in the year 875 and also the oldest lighthouse in Scotland dating back to 1636.
