3-day Speyside Whisky Tour

Day 1. 

After departing Edinburgh, you will escape the city and head north into the Kingdom of Fife. Here you will visit Lindores Abbey Distillery, the spiritual home of scotch whisky to sample their delicious Aqua Vitae. Aqua Vitae is Lindores Abbey's award-winning handcrafted botanical spirit which can be enjoyed on its own or with ginger ale and orange.

We then travel north to Stonehaven, the stunning harbour town south of Aberdeen. There is time to take a walk around and enjoy a local lunch before heading to our next stop of the day Strathisla Distillery, one of Scotland's prettiest and oldest working highland distilleries. Here, we'll enjoy a cask tasting and blending experience before heading to Grantown-on-Spey, your home for the next two nights.

Day 2.

Today’s tour starts with a back road drive along the the northern bank of the River Spey, followed by a visit to Glenfarclas Distillery. This is one of the last independent, family-owned distilleries in Scotland and we have arranged a very special tour and tasting for you to enjoy.

We'll leave Glenfarclas behind and make our way to Glenfiddich Distillery so you can enjoy a delicious lunch in the Distillery Malt Barn (matched with a wee dram if you like).

Next up, we'll continue to the fascinating Speyside Cooperage. Here you will get an insight into the often-forgotten art of the cooper – the people responsible for the casks used by the distilleries.

Our day ends with a visit to Aberlour Distillery where we have arranged a very special tasting for you. One the way back to Grantown-on-Spey, we may pop into the brand new Macallan Distillery for a dram or two if we have time.

Day 3.

After a hearty breakfast and restful night, it is a short drive to The Glenlivet Distillery to kick off your Wednesday morning. The guides at Glenlivet will be taking you on a quick tour before letting you sample some amazing distillery exclusives in a stunning setting.

From here, we'll say goodbye to Speyside and make our way south, back to Edinburgh. The journey will take us over the highest public road in Britain where you'll be able to take in some of the most spectacular scenery the Cairngorm National Park has to offer.
