 Day 1 – Scotland Welcomes You

When you touch down at Edinburgh Airport, your personal chauffeur will be waiting to greet you and whisk you off into Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh.

After a tiring journey, your first day will be spent relaxing, pampering yourself in The Balmoral’s exceptional spa, and, if you want to, exploring a little of Edinburgh.

In the evening, you will have dinner reservations in The Balmoral’s exquisite Number One Restaurant which boasts four AA Rosettes and offers a fine dining experience in opulent surroundings.

 Day 2 – Exploring Scotland’s Capital

Day two kicks off with a guided walking tour of Edinburgh. Your experienced guide will tell you all about the fascinating history of the city as you explore The Royal Mile, Holyrood Palace, The Old Town, Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street, and the Scott Monument.

After a thrilling but tiring day you will have time to relax for a while before dinner which this evening is at The Witchery. Deep reds, dark woods, and ornate furnishing combine to create a unique atmosphere in which to enjoy a menu packed with premium Scottish produce.

 Day 3 – Stirling and Bannockburn

Activities:Stirling Castle, Afternoon Tea at The Cromlix Hotel, Bannockburn

First up today is a visit to Stirling Castle which sits atop a large crag carved by glaciers. Its elevated position served defending armies well by providing an unbeatable position and now serves you well by providing unbeatable views across Stirling.

You will then tuck into a delicious afternoon tea at The Cromlix Hotel, which is owned by tennis star Sir Andy Murray.

From The Cromlix you will be taken to Bannockburn where, in 1314, Robert the Bruce led an outnumbered Scottish army to a heroic victory against a vastly superior English force, with consequences that echoed throughout history.

For dinner this evening you will be treated to the delightful dishes served up at Monteiths Kitchen and Cocktail Bar where they adapt their menu to ensure only the freshest seasonal food is on offer.

Day 4 – The Wonderful West Coast

Activities:Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, Loch Fyne Oysters (lunch), Inveraray Castle

Dinner:Main House Restaurant (Isle of Eriska Hotel)

On day four your chauffeur will weave you through the glorious scenery of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, stopping off at the best photo spots along the way. You will also have the chance to grab a beer at Loch Fyne Ales.

Your lunch stop today is at Loch Fyne Oyster Bar where they use an in-house smokery to smother their seafood in flavour. Don’t worry if oysters don’t float your boat, there is a wide selection to choose from, including vegetarian options.

After lunch you will make a stop at the quaint little town of Inveraray which sits on the banks of Loch Fyne. Here you will have time to enjoy a relaxing stroll through the town, exploring the old jailhouse museum, the Bell Tower, and the crowning jewel, Inveraray Castle.

Your accommodation tonight, Isle of Eriska Hotel, sits on its very own private island on Loch Creran. You will have the chance to explore the island and enjoy a relaxing spa treatment before dinner in the hotel’s Main House Restaurant.

Day 5 – Whirlpools and Whisky

Activities: Oban, Corryvreckan Wildlife Cruise, Ee-Usk (lunch), Oban Distillery

The seaside town of Oban is your first stop today. After exploring the town centre, you will make the short walk up to McCaig’s Tower which was inspired by Roman architecture and sits on the perfect vantage point for stunning views across the bay.

And the bay is where you will be heading next as you set off on a two-hour boat tour round the Gulf of Corryvreckan. Your knowledgeable skipper will keep a close eye on the waves for signs of whales, seals, and dolphins. Many birds will be roaming the skies too, such as golden eagles, white tailed sea eagles, razorbills, guillemots, and geese. The tour also includes the opportunity to view the Corryvreckan Whirlpool, the third biggest whirlpool in the world.

After a couple of hours at sea you will have worked up quite an appetite, possibly for seafood, so lunch today is at the charming Ee-Usk Seafood Restaurant. Ee-Usk pride themselves on showcasing the finest freshly caught fish and cooking it in a no-nonsense style.

Having filled yourself up with food, you will then be taken to Oban Distillery for a tour of one of Scotland’s more petite distilleries, operating only two stills. However, Oban punches well above its weight and has been producing highly regarded whisky for over 200 years. On the tour, you will hear about the distillery’s history, learn how whisky is made here, and sample some ‘water of life’.

You will then return to the Isle of Eriska Hotel where dinner this evening will be served in The Deck restaurant.

 Day 6 – Glen Etive and Glenfinnan

Activities: Castle Stalker Viewpoint, Glen Etive, Fort William, Glenfinnan Viaduct and Monument, Old Sligachan Bridge, Portree

Accommodation: Marmalade Hotel, Portree

Dinner:Chargrill Restaurant (Marmalade Hotel)

Another packed day of touring awaits you on day six which begins with a stop off at the Castle Stalker Viewpoint which overlooks Loch Linnhe and the Isle of Mull. From there you will head towards the majestic Buchaille Etive Mor, before turning down a dirt track road through Glen Etive. Keen James Bond fans will recognise this route instantly from ‘Skyfall’.

Back on the main track, you will be taken to Fort William for a chance to explore this highland town which is situated at the foot of the UK’s tallest mountain, Ben Nevis.

It’s now Harry Potter fans turn to get excited with a trip to Glenfinnan Viaduct, immortalised as part of the route taken by the famous Hogwarts Express. You will also visit the Glenfinnan Monument which is dedicated to those who fought and died in the Jacobite Rising of 1745.

You will then hop on the Mallaig to Armadale ferry in order to reach the beautiful Isle of Skye.

The Old Sligachan Bridge was built way back in 1818 and its charming, confident beauty is just one of many images you will want to capture as you explore this wonderful island.

A pit stop in Portree will give you the chance to browse in some gift shops, grab a coffee in a cosy café, and enjoy a stroll around the harbour.

Your accommodation this evening will be the Marmalade Hotel, where you will dine in their Chargrill Restaurant while enjoying sumptuous views across the bay to the Cuillin Mountains beyond.

 Day 7 – Exploring the Magical Isle of Skye

Activities: Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls, The Quiraing, Fairy Glen, The Oyster Shed (lunch), Tour of Talisker Distillery

The Isle of Skye is without doubt one of Scotland’s most beautiful areas, and today you will be exploring some of the best it has to offer.

Your day begins with a visit to The Old Man of Storr, a sharp rocky hill which was formed when a giant landslide reshaped the entire area around the Trotternish Peninsula.

From there it’s on to the aptly named Kilt Rock, so called due to the pleated formation of the rock. From here you can also watch on in wonder at the majestic Mealt Falls which sends water crashing onto the rocks 60 metres below.

Up next is The Quiraing (“kuh-rayng”), a mesmerising area of hills, rocky outcrops, and grassy plateaus. It was also formed by a landslide and, remarkably, is still moving a couple of centimetres each year.

While The Quiraing is impressive for its grand scale, your next stop, The Fairy Glen, has a distinctively miniature charm. As glaciers lumbered over this area, they took particular care to carve little hillocks and tinkling waterfalls which make the perfect home for Skye’s fairies.

After a magical morning, you will grab lunch at the Oyster Shed, a quirky farm shop selling the freshest oysters and seafood on Skye.

Your chauffeur will then take you the short journey down the road to Talisker Distillery, which was founded way back in 1830, making it Skye’s oldest distillery. On the immersive tour you will learn all about Talisker’s journey from 1830 to present day and of course sample their distinctive single malt.

You will then have some time to relax at the Marmalade Hotel before dinner reservations at Scorrybreac, a sophisticated fine dining restaurant which overlooks the harbour.

 Day 8 – The Majestic Highlands

Activities: The Fairy Pools, Eilean Donan Castle, Plockton, The Shores (lunch), Torridon

Accommodation: The Torridon Hotel, Wester Ross

Dinner: 1887 Restaurant (The Torridon Hotel)

Your hunt for Skye’s elusive fairies continues this morning as you head to the island’s most renowned attraction, the Fairy Pools. A series of rock pools and waterfalls make their way down from the Cuillin Mountains, which form a stunning backdrop.

From there you will make your way over the gently curving Skye Bridge and on to Eilean Donan Castle, one of the most picturesque spots in all of Scotland. Dating back to the 13th century and occupying its very own tiny island, Eilean Donan looks like it was plucked straight from a fantasy story.

You will then enjoy a relaxing stroll around the bay in Plockton, a pretty highland village on the shores of Loch Carron, before having lunch at The Shores Seafood Restaurant.

Your chauffeur will then drive you through Torridon, an area of unrivalled beauty, to your accommodation for the evening, The Torridon Hotel, where dinner will be served in the 3 AA Rosette 1887 Restaurant. With plush furnishings, gorgeous views, and a menu that beats them both, this is a dining experience to cherish.

 Day 9 – Hunting for the Loch Ness Monster

Activities: Kinlochewe and Garve, Rogie Falls, Glen Ord Distillery, Private Boat Tour of Loch Ness, Inverness

Dinner: Torrish Restaurant (Ness Walk Hotel)

Your final day of touring begins with visits to the villages of Kinlochewe and Garve, the latter of which hugs the banks of the mighty Black Water River.

Not far from the village of Contin you will visit Rogie Falls. Here you can make the short walk out to a suspension bridge which allows perfect views of the falls and, if you’re lucky, Atlantic salmon making their way to their breeding grounds.

Whisky lovers will be glad to hear it’s onwards to Glen Ord Distillery next for a chance to learn about their intriguing history, try a few drams, and browse their giftshop.

An exciting adventure awaits you next as you track down the Loch Ness Monster on a private boat tour of the magnificent Loch Ness. Your experienced captain, Gordon, will delight you with tales of local folklore.

Back on dry land, you will head to your accommodation for the evening, Ness Walk Hotel in Inverness. The hotel’s fine dining restaurant, The Torrish, will serve up a final meal to remember, with Scrabster lemon sole, highland lamb, monkfish, and sticky toffee soufflé just some of the delicacies on offer.

Day 10 – A Fond Farewell

With your mind brimming with happy memories, your chauffeur will take you from Ness Walk Hotel to Inverness Airport and wish you a fond farewell.
