Ascog Fernery

North East 250

Dating back to the late 19th century and fed by natural spring waters, the sunken Ascog Fernery and surrounding estate holds an impressive collection of ferns including what is thought to be Britain's old exotic fern. Follow the Plant Hunters Trail to learn more about the explorers who brought the plants back to Argyll from all corners of the globe. The ruins of the old stables and coach house will transport you back to Victorian times.
