Mount Stuart House & Gardens

Clyde Sea Lochs Trail

A magnificent example of Victorian Gothic architecture which includes 300 acres of immaculate grounds, Mount Stuart is a must see for any visitor to Bute. The ancestral home to the Marquess of Bute, Mount's Stuart's interiors are opulent. The Marble Hall at some 80 ft is a wonder of craftsmanship with an exquisite vaulted ceiling, while the house holds an outstanding art collection from the 18th and 19th century, as well as regular exhibitions and visual arts events. The grounds are stunning too, with beautiful trees and gardens (Wee, Rock and Kitchen) to stir the senses and major plant collections from around the world.
