125 Years of Dracula Anniversary Tour in Scotland
Dacre Stoker, great-grandnephew of novelist Bram Stoker, organizes an exceptional anniversary tour to celebrate 125 years since the novel DRACULA was published. Scottish connections and influences to the novel to be revealed in the Cruden Bay area.
We will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the publication of the novel “Dracula” together with Bram Stoker’s great-grandnephew. Which location would be more appropriate than the very place where Bram Stoker spent his summer holidays, taking inspirational beach walks, writing and enjoying the local culture. We will be joined by is Mike Shepherd, a Cruden Bay resident, local expert and author, who has been doing vast research on Bram’s holidays in Cruden Bay. Absorb the atmosphere, learn the history, and experience the dramatic beauty of wild Scotland, together with knowledgeable guides. Transylvanian tour director Nora Vintila joins the trip and analyzes Scottish writer Emily Gerard's influence on Bram's novel, through her works "The Land Beyond The Forest" and "Transylvanian Superstitions".
Good to know before the tour!
Some of the hikes in Cruden Bay are strenuous and will require waterproof, above the ankle, footwear. May’s weather in coastal Scotland can be unpredictable, so waterproof rain gear and layers are recommended.
