Perth Art Gallery
Perth Art Gallery, one of the UK's oldest collections, features works by influential modern Scottish artists, including Joan Eardley, Sir William MacTaggart, Calum Colvin, JD Fergusson, Margaret Morris and Alison Watt. The gallery offers family activities, a shop, a coffee bar, and toilets.
Perth Art Gallery is open Thursday to Monday (please check opening hours). Visitors will be able to explore Modern Scots, our new permanent display, as we tell the story of influential modern Scottish artists and their contribution to 20th and 21st century art. The works on display cover the last 100 years and demonstrate the new and innovative ways in which Scottish artists were working and taking inspiration from the past and from Europe. The exhibition includes key players in the story of Scottish art, such as Joan Eardley and Sir William MacTaggart, alongside renowned contemporary artists Calum Colvin and Alison Watt.
The gallery is also home to the popular family area, Hands on Art, as well as the shop, coffee bar and toilets.
As part of the Art Gallery refresh, more works of art from local, Scottish, and international artists will be on display than ever before. Perth Art Gallery is also the new home of the Fergusson Collection. Fergus & Meg: A Creative Partnership celebrates the life and creative partnership of the Scottish Colourist, John Duncan Fergusson, and his partner, Margaret Morris, the pioneering dancer. This display was generously funded by the JD Fergusson Art Foundation.
