Winter Navigation Course - Cairngorms, Aviemore
Our winter navigation course is designed to help people become more efficient in the winter environment, having a good framework for their navigation and being able to apply appropriate techniques while in challenging conditions.
Day 1 Cairngorms.
Day one will be finding what we have in the toolbox already, fine tuning those skills, providing a solid framework then we'll make things more accurate with contour interpretation, techniques for measuring distance and walking on bearing with accuracy.
Day 2 Cairngorms.
Day two we will look at strategies for being able to keep ourselves safe on the terrain we navigate on and how to relocate if we become disorientated. Also, techniques how to relocate including the use of a GPS.
