Winter Climbing & Mountaineering Courses
If you have ever fancied winter climbing or learning how to climb in winter then this course might just be for you. We will go where the weather and conditions look best in order to provide you with the nicest quality conditions out there!
This is a great opportunity to tackle those classic Scottish winter mountaineering & climbing routes you’ve aspired to climb in Aviemore & the Cairngorms. On our two and five day courses you may also climb at Creag Meagaidh, Aonaoch Mor and Ben Nevis. The days will be tailored to your personal and group needs and will tackle some classic winter climbing routes. The course ratios are on a 1:2.The weather and winter climbing conditions in Aviemore & across Scotland will dictate where we go so that we can make the most of the days and have the best/most appropriate learning environments. Candidates will have one of the following:
On the five day course there will be the opportunity to lead pitches/full routes as appropriate.
Winter Climbing & Mountaineering Courses in Aviemore, the Cairngorms & ScotlandDuring the course we will cover the main techniques required for safe and efficient winter climbing. You will be seconding several climbs & by the end of the course you will have developed a strong understanding of the skills and equipment required (including the use of axes and crampons). We will also aim to ensure you have an understanding of Avalanches as well as their causes & effects which dictate route choice.The price of the course includes equipment rental.

- 2 Day winter climbing & mountaineering in Aviemore Course 1:2 ratio MAX£280 Per person
- 5 Day Winter Climbing & mountaineering in Scotland (includes winter lead climbing) 1:2 ratio MAX£700.00
