The Tourist Trail - Running Tour

Fancy a whistle-stop tour of Edinburgh’s Old and New Towns? This action-packed route takes you on a journey through the city's historic past and vibrant present, showcasing Edinburgh's most iconic landmarks and viewpoints along the way.

Starting in the elegant Georgian architecture of Edinburgh's New Town, we will weave our way to the top of Calton Hill for breathtaking panoramic views of the city.

Descending towards the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the official Scottish residence of the monarch, we will pass by the striking architecture of the Scottish Parliament and continue through the wild beauty of Holyrood Park. From there, we will tackle the iconic Royal Mile, lined with historic buildings that capture the very essence of the city's Old Town.

Venturing through Greyfriars Kirkyark, be prepared to discover tales of loyalty and legend, before winding into the vibrant Grassmarket where every pub has a unique story to tell. We will then ascend to the towering Edinburgh Castle, perched above the city - our city's most visited tourist attraction. Our journey concludes by taking in the serenity of Princes Street Gardens, nestled beneath the Castle, before looping back through the New Town to conclude the tour.

The Tourist Trail (approximately 4.5 miles) is crafted to suit any schedule, ordering a brisk, invigorating way to familiarise yourself with the city in around an hour. Perfect for anyone visiting the city for the first time, or for those looking to squeeze in a run between business meetings.

Tailored to accommodate all fitness levels, from the seasoned marathon runner to the casual weekend jogger, our tours ensure that no runner is left behind!

*Price pp quoted above is based on a 4 person private running tour. A discount may also be available to larger tour groups (i.e. more than 6 people). Please contact Stride Out directly to discuss further.
