Outlander Film Locations Motorbike Tour
This motorcycle tour is designed to offer riders who are fans of the Diana Gabaldon books and Outlander TV show an exceptional experience touring Scotland by motorbike whilst visiting locations used in the Stars Outlander TV Series.
Enthusiasts of Diana Gabaldon's Book and Starz TV series Outlander who ride will love this motorcycle tour because it visits locations used during filming and we travel between the locations by motorbike. As an added bonus the roads we travel will take you through some of Scotland’s prettiest countryside
Eight nights half board accommodation are included and three these are at a centrally located 4 Star Hotel and three in a Stirling based 5 star hotel both of which are perfectly placed to reach most of the filming locations. The other two nights we spend in 3 star hotels in Mallaig and Inverness. The price is based on each person in a double room on a single occupancy basis. Those sharing will benefit from a lower cost per person. All entry fees to locations, ferry crossings and airport transfers are included in the price.
The circuit each day will brings riders to different Outlander film locations and apart from the two nights away we return to the hotel each night. We shall usually ride about an hour between each stop covering up to 180 miles (288km) per day and visit three locations.
A choice of rental bikes is available to suit every riders preference.
Day 1 – As riders will arrive from various locations at different times this is a day to relax at the hotel and enjoy the leisure facilities or take a walk around town.
Day 2 - Doune Castle (Castle Leoch), Culross (Cranesmuir), Aberdour Castle (Anne de Beaupre Monastery), Dysart Harbour (Le Harve), Falkland (1945 Inverness), Tibbermore (Clair's witchcraft trial). Circa 130 miles.
Day 3 - Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway (1945 Station), Blackness Castle (Black Jack Randall's residence), Hopetoun House (Duke of Sandringham’s home and Hawkins Estate in Paris), Midhope Castle (Lallybroch), Linlithgow Palace (prison corridors), Callendar House (Duke of Sandringham’s kitchen). Circa 100 miles.
Day 4 - Loch Earn, Glencoe, Ft William, Glenfinnan, Mallaig (all real places used in country scenes and directly connected to the Jocobyte uprising). Circa 180 miles
Day 5 - Mallaig, Isle of Skye, Applecross, Inverness (various costal and landscape locations) circa 160 miles.
Day 6 - Inverness, Culloden Moor (Jacobite rising on 16 April 1746), Tulloch Ghru (host to many scenes e.g. when Claire makes her way to Castle Leoch), Newtonmore Highland Folk Museum (waulking the cloth), Kinloch Rannoch (Standing Stones), Loch Tay, Stirling. Circa 170 miles.
Day 7 – Stirling, Prestonpans (battleground), Gosford House (Palace of Versailles), Pencraig (Standing Stones), Preston Mill (Jamie lost his shirt on the mill wheel), Lammermuir and Pentland Hills, Glencourse Old Kirk (Jamie and Claire took their wedding vows) and back to Stirling. Circa 180 miles.
Day 8 - Stirling, Glasgow Cathedral (L'Hopital Des Anges), Glasgow City Chambers (Frank Proposed to Claire), Deane Castle (Beaufort Castle), Troon (Jamie, Claire and Murtach set sail for France), Loch Lomond, Devils Pulpit (where Claire tasted the water of truth) then back to Stirling. Circa 175 miles.
Day 9 – Homeward bound
