Sample routes/stops of a full day tour
On this short day tour we can select and visit a few of these
Stunning route outbound through the Trossachs nationalpark &
to Killin & the falls of Dochart
along the northside of Loch Tay to Kenmore & the Crannog centre
returning through scenic Perthshire – Aberfeldy, Grandtully, Dunkeld & Birnam, River Garry/Tummel with optional viewpoint walks.
We pass the Deanston distillery
which also runs guided tours.
Through Doune and past the historic Doune castle
which also featured as “Castle Leoch/home of the MacKenzie clan in the Outlander series” and was used as a historic backdrop to film Monty Python and others.
We leave the Lowlands behind and cross the Highland boundary.
Callander is the gateway to the Trossachs & you can go out exploring the Bracklinn falls or for a coffee and snack in Victorian Callander.
You may wish to visit Hamish and Moira the Hairy Coos at Kilmahog
we drive past the Falls of Leny
and then along to the shores Loch Lubnaig
or take a break at the cosy log cabin cafe at the Loch Lubnaig Forestry commission cabines
Rob Roy MacGregor, the famous clan chief of the local Clan MacGregor lies buried not far in Balquhidder
near Loch Voil
After having driven up spectacular Glen Ogle “Britain’s Khyber pass” we arrive at Killin & the falls of Dochart.

Prices for short day tours are proportionally based on the cost of a 10 hour full 1 day tour (see below),
- i.e. a short day tour of 5 hours will cost 1/2 of the 1 day tour price
- i.e. a short day tour of 3.3 hours will cost 1/3 of a the 1 day tour price
- and so on (1 hour is costing a 1/10 of the full 1 day 10 hour tour)

- 10 hour full day winter tour is £240
(if only 1 person = £240 for the tour / for a couple it is £120 per person / for 3 it is £80 per person / for a group of 4 is £60 per person / if 5 = £48 pp / if 6 = £40 pp / if 7 = £34 pp / for 8 passengers is £30 per person - these are the discounted winter prices from November up to February
- 10 hour full day standard/mid-season (March, April & October) tour is £300
- 10 hour full day high-season (May - September) tour is £360

From Stirling we have various scenic route options to Dunkeld, incl. via Sheriffmuir, Gleneagles,
Free time to wander around scenic Dunkeld, its cathedral, along the River Tay and its historic buildings
(Optional / short detour to visit of Pitlochry, its Victorian architecture, the dam visitor centre, the dam, fish ladder, the festival centre and the old mill)
before we drive through Aberfeldy, Kenmore and along Loch Tay to the waterfalls of Dochart in Killin.
Drive across Glenogle and along scenic Loch Earn to St Filans and Comrie with possible stops also at the prisoner of war museum or the Auchengarrich wildlife park.
Scenic mountain route back to Stirling & the Scottish Central belt.
(Depending on the weather the route might also be reversed or in case of wintry conditions on higher grounds, we might instead spend some time in the city of Perth instead or chose some alternative routes, in very mild and good conditions, this could possibly even incl. the stunning Glen Lyon – Ben Lawers route, etc.)
