6 Day Isle of Skye & Outer Hebrides
Join us on an unforgettable journey across the Highlands and Islands, where we discover some of Scotland’s most iconic destinations, as well as the hidden gems; from the world-famous Loch Ness to the remote corners of the Hebrides.
We travel north passing Stirling Castle, and catch a glimpse of Doune Castle, which appears in Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Outlander and Game of Thrones. Soak up the atmospheric scenery in Glen Coe and learn about the legend of ‘Nessie’ at Loch Ness.
DAY 2: Inverness to StornowayStart the day at the stunning Corrieshalloch Gorge before catching the ferry from Ullapool to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. Continuing our journey south to the Isle of Harris, you’ll be blown away at white sandy beaches and a backdrop of rugged mountains. We have time to visit the famous Harris Distillery and indulge in some of the best local produce before we return to Stornoway for the night.
DAY 3: StornowayTravel back in time to the Neolithic period at the mysterious 5000-year-old Callanish Standing Stones, and then fast-forward to the Iron Age at the broch of Dun Carloway. Experience traditional island life at the Gearrannan Blackhouse Village before you visit the Butt of Lewis and its lighthouse, the most northerly point on the island.
DAY 4: Stornoway to PortreeBack on the Isle of Harris, we board the ferry and go over the sea to the Isle of Skye. Spend the afternoon learning about the island’s myths and legends, while gazing at the enchanting scenery. In the evening we have free time to enjoy dinner in one of the local restaurants in Portree.
DAY 5: PortreeVisit the Isle of Skye’s enchanted waters by Sligachan River with views of the old bridge and the breathtaking Cuillin mountains. Drive over the Skye Bridge to the iconic and beautiful Eilean Donan Castle before arriving back in Portree.
DAY 6: Portree to EdinburghWe take the ferry back to the mainland, arriving at the fishing village of Mallaig on the West Coast. You have a chance to experience one of the most spectacular railway journeys in the world and travel over the Glenfinnan Viaduct on the Jacobite Steam Train; made famous by Harry Potter. We take the scenic route back to Edinburgh through the Cairngorms National Park, arriving in the evening.From £1159 per adult
