Come visit our bar & restaurant, situated beneath the iconic arches of Glasgow Central. Indulge in the finest steak, sourced locally from the picturesque Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders, alongside an impressive selection of gin.

Alston Bar & Beef is located underneath Glasgow Central Station and is named after the long forgotten main street of Grahamston Village, which was demolished to make way for the station in the mid-1870s.
At Alston, we only serve the top 1% of beef on the market. Choose from one of our 35 day dry-aged steaks (including Glaswegians favourite, the fillet) all sourced from the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders by John Gilmour, a third generation family butcher.
You can also join us at the bar and choose from one of the largest selections of gin in Glasgow. However if gin isn’t your drink of choice, don’t worry since we have a number of cocktails, wines and local beers at the bar. Even if your not dining on steak, the bar is always open so book a table, relax with friends, and there’s no need to rush for a train since Glasgow Central is just upstairs!
