If you have ever wondered 'are there any community choirs near me?' then the answer is firmly yes!
Your friendly local Troon choir is run by singer/pianist Lauren McGarrigle. The choir will be performing locally again soon so it's a chance for you to join in, sing and perform without pressure and under the supportive guidance of Lauren. Rock Choir members have performed at Wembley Stadium for the record breaking Saracens versus Harlequins rugby league game in 2012, Guilfest and many more iconic venues across the country.
You've probably heard us singing in and around Ayrshire, or seen one of our many TV appearances, and never thought you'd have to courage to get up on stage and sing! But the unique teaching methods at the Troon Rock Choir, along with no need to audition or read music, mean that we are accessible to all. Come along and try us out for FREE at a taster session, and experience singing with your local 'exceptional' Rock Choir for yourself.
Here is a quote about our choir - 'Rock Choir is a way for people to express themselves musically in an environment which normally would not allow them to do so. I bet a pound to a pinch of salt there are thousands of guys and girls in the UK itching to sing but are too embarrassed or worried what others may think, and let's face it, if it makes people happy then come on UK lets get behind them!!! Rock Choir is the wonderful innovative idea which is the brain child of Caroline Redman Lusher who I have had the privilege of working with over the past 12 months. Live the dream guys.' - Gary Chilton (Double-platinum selling singer with 'The Soldiers')
Rock Choir is a winner of the Red Ribbon 'Big Heart' Award [https://rockchoir.com/awards-achievements/]. and holds 1 former and 2 current Guinness World Records. The choir is also credited with single handedly starting the contemporary choir movement.
