Escape to the remote beauty of Rua Reidh Lighthouse on Scotland's north-west coast, an enticing haven off the beaten track. Perched on the rugged cliffs overlooking the Minch, this historic lighthouse, designed by David Alan Stevenson in 1912, offers breathtaking views of Loch Ewe's entrance. A 12-mile journey from Gairloch leads through hauntingly beautiful landscapes, culminating in a mesmerizing 3-mile stretch after the hamlet of Melvaig, where the narrow-gauge track winds over clifftops and gullies.

The lighthouse's First Officer's Quarters, now a meticulously renovated ground-floor apartment in the west wing, welcome guests to a cosy sitting room, spacious kitchen, dining area, and two en suite bedrooms. With automation handling the light, visitors can immerse themselves in the surroundings, exploring dramatic clifftop walks, secluded beaches, and abundant wildlife. There is also outdoor seating which offers wonderful panoramic views of the Isle of Skye, the Shiants, and the Western Isles.
