The Burn is a beautiful rural estate at the foot of Glen Esk on the Angus/Aberdeenshire border. The Burn offers country house hotel accommodation in a grand Georgian mansion house along with a range of holiday cottages.

The Burn is operated as a charitable trust and has served as an academic retreat venue for more than 70 years. The Burn offers a calm and relaxing environment and real escape and from incessant demands of the modern world. The Burn is the ideal place to unwind, refresh and refocus. Many students regard The Burn as a home from home and we pride ourselves in making everyone feel welcome.

A magnificent Georgian mansion house with 18 guest bedrooms stands at the centre of The Burn's 200 acre estate. The mansion house offers catered and COVID-19 secure country house accommodation in a glorious historic setting.

In addition, three holiday let properties can be booked. Two of the properties are well appointed gatehouses providing comfortable accommodation for four people. The third holiday let property is Courtyard House - a six bedroom property - adjacent to the main mansion house.
