Pilmuir is a family owned and run cottage near Boat of Garten which is truly a 'home from home' as the owners spend time at the cottage regularly. Everything you need for families, walkers, skiers or just simply couples wishing to relax.
Pilmuir, a former coach inn is a self catering cottage set in 3 acres in the Cairngorm National Park near Boat of Garten, Aviemore which has attend the Ready to Go and AA COVID Confident certification. The cottage brings character and history to your stay along with spectacular panoramic views over the Cairngorm mountains and is a great location to explore the area. This unique holiday cottage welcomes you from the time you arrive to when you depart as the views dominate the rooms whilst the wildlife is plentiful with the resident red squirrels, wood pecker and deer all to be seen. The owners and their special team, go to all efforts to make sure your stay is comfortable and personalised as possible and to that end the cottage has all the facilities you’d expect of your own home from washing machine to wifi to slow cookers and extensive kitchen equipment, an electric vehicle charging point and access to a personalised hot tub service. Many guests comment that it is ‘home from home before even unpacking’ and thus it is the experience offered by the Milne family and Pilmuir that makes your holiday.
Pilmuir has a modern traditional kitchen with range cooker, living / dinning area with wood burner stove and four bedrooms accommodating up to seven or eight people although with children and cots this can be higher. The owners have family themselves and thus sterilisers, playpen, toys, high chairs are all available to make the experience of travelling easier. The cottage is ‘very well equipped’ with a library of maps available through to activity area.
The garden is set in about an acre of ground where there is a ‘thatched hut’ which is heated and offers a splendid outside ‘eatery’ , or indeed there is a BBQ area for those warmer days. To the rear of the garden is a secure paddock which is used either for horses or a play area for children, ample parking and a ski / bike storage shed. A further two acres of land has grass, trees, streams and makes a great playing / adventure area.
The location of Pilmuir is excellent for a variety of activities including hill walking, cycling, golfing and riding along with tourist attractions in the Park such as Strathspey Steam Railway (1mile away), the Cairngorms, Landmark Forest Theme Park, (4miles away) Distilleries and Aviemore. The Boat of Garten is within walking and cycling distance with post office, shops, hotel and restaurants
