Driving down a little lane through the lovely Borders countryside near Kelso, you see across the fields Parkend Cottage, a traditional, chocolate box cottage standing quite alone and snuggling into the trees behind it. With glorious views away to the Cheviots and the Eildon Hills, and reached by a good private track, it stands in its own enclosed and south-facing gardens (furniture) ideal for children and pets.

The area is perfect for those looking for a peaceful holiday in lovely surroundings, yet who prefer not to be too remote. Kelso is a very pretty riverside town with a cobbled square and which boasts a racecourse, swimming pool, icerink and golf course, as well as Floors Castle.
It’s an ideal spot, too, for fishermen, walking in the Border hills or visiting the local stately homes and castles, with nearby riding stables and sandy beaches, too, within an hour’s drive.
