The kitchen features high quality granite work surfaces and new fittings throughout, while coffee buffs can take advantage of the Nespresso machine and head to the wonderful open garden for a spot of quiet contemplation listening to the sound of bird song. A formal dining room seating eight has plenty of space for entertaining and there’s the option of privately catered services for a truly relaxing stay.
Upstairs, deep sumptuous carpets lead into four tranquil bedrooms (two superking and two twin) appointed with crisp linens and fresh tickings and florals for a comforting sense of warmth. There are three bathrooms on this floor (two en-suite) with roll-top baths or large rainforest head showers for a bit of pampering at the end of a busy day.
Outside, there’s something for all interests on the doorstep. Families will love to explore the woodland trails and outdoor adventure playground at nearby Harestanes; passionate gardeners can find their own little patch of heaven wandering the stunning gardens which bound Stables West; walkers can join the path of St. Cuthbert’s Way at this point; while the fishing members of the party can cast a line on the nearby River Teviot or Tweed systems.

OUTSIDE
Monteviot Stables West sits within the grounds of Monteviot House and Gardens and is surrounded by a large open lawned garden which is not overlooked. Garden furniture with seating for 8 is provided. Please note that the garden is not enclosed. This leads onto a network of woodland trails leading down to the stunning gardens of Monteviot which guests have complimentary access to.
PARKING
There is private parking for 3-4 cars in the courtyard which sits to the rear of the property.
BABIES & CHILDREN
A travel cot and highchair are available on request.
DOGS
Two dogs are permitted but they must be kept to the large boot room/utility room when wet and dirty, and thereafter to the ground floor uncarpeted areas of the property only. Please note that the garden is not fully enclosed and dogs are not permitted in the formal gardens of Monteviot House.
GUEST AMENITIES
High quality Egyptian cotton bed linen, bath sheets and hand towels are provided along with guest toiletries. Pillows and duvets are hypoallergenic. A hairdryer is supplied in each of the four bedrooms.
WI-FI & MOBILE COVERAGE
Wi-Fi is available. Mobile coverage is good to reasonable depending on the network.
HEATING
There is heating throughout, with a large wood burning stove in the sitting room with logs provided.
GUEST PRIVACY
Please note that Monteviot gardens are open to the public from 1st April - 31st October. In the courtyard area to the rear of the property, there is one occupied cottage with the remainder of the buildings storage and outbuildings.
FISHING ON SITE
Fishing is available on the Monteviot beat on the River Teviot, subject to availability.
