Just a short walk from the shores of the Firth of Forth there is a wealth of local amenities and attractions, with Musselburgh town centre being just 2 miles away. Musselburgh can be easily accessed via the John Muir Way by foot or by bike that runs directly along the Firth of Forth coastline. Prestonpans is a short walk and also has a range of amenities.
Excellent and regular public transport links to Edinburgh by bus or train, with the bus stop being a short 5-minute walk away. Wallyford train station is a 20-minute walk or short drive and there is a large free park and ride at the station. The bus takes around an hour and the train 10 minutes into Edinburgh. Buses run all night between Edinburgh city and Drummohr.
The fishing towns of North Berwick and Dunbar are just a short drive, as are the wonderful beaches such as Gullane, Longniddry and North Berwick. East Lothian boasts 21 different golf courses and so the Mevlille Retreat is an excellent location for a luxury Scottish golf break.
