We are living in extra ordinary times and the purpose of this note is to let you know of changes we’re making in relation to Covid-19 to ensure you feel as comfortable as possible in our holiday home. There are also some things we require you to do at the end of your stay.
Firstly, we are required to remove as much ‘excess’ from the house as possible, so sadly we have removed all books, games, jigsaw puzzles, and most DVD’s and likewise the supply of magazines and tourist leaflets. We would encourage you to bring these things with you, the DVD player is there, and please remember to take them back with you.
We are providing electronic versions of our Welcome Pack, with useful information and emergency telephone numbers etc and replacing tourist leaflets with a list of what is in the surrounding area and website addresses, this will ensure you get the latest information on what they offer and opening times.
In the kitchen we have reduced the amount of crockery, glasses, and cookware etc. Obviously you will still have enough for each person staying and we have left a supply of cleaning tablets so the dishwasher can be used after each meal, that way you won’t run short. We have also removed some of the ‘nice to have items’ like cake tins for baking and silicon cup cake cases. Please can I stress that during your stay if you need any additional items bringing please just ask.
Secondly, we believe a high standard of cleaning is essential. It is done by me and one other regular person wearing appropriate PPE. We will be changing and cleaning more soft furnishings and ensuring everywhere is given a ‘deep’ clean each changeover. For that reason we need to change our access times by one hour each side, so check-out time is now 9.00am and check-in 5.00pm.
The bed linen is supplied by a specialist laundry company, who deliver on a Tuesday, in laundry bags. We normally bring it to Kirkbride on a Friday for your beds to be made on arrival. We are happy to continue to do this? Alternatively we can leave the bags for you, having checked the linen is correct on arrival from the laundry. It is then left untouched for 72 hours. A final option is if you wish to bring your own linen we totally understand. Whatever option you are most comfortable with, please just let us know.
The towels, bath mats, tea towels, oven-gloves are all my own and I wash them at home. Again the same three options 1) I can place everything in Kirkbride as usual 2) I can place in a bag earlier on in the week prior to your stay so they are not recently touched or 3) If you wish to bring your own to feel more comfortable that is fine, please just say.
Fabric Sofa arm sleeves, these are a new addition to Kirkbride and not normally in use!! Each changeover will receive a clean set, if you wish not to use them that is not a problem. I totally agree they are not the best looking items !!
Finally, on the day you are leaving please can I ask you to do the following. Please can you strip the beds and place the sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases in the large cloth laundry bags and fasten up. The mattress & pillow protectors also need to be removed, as we are supplying fresh for every guest, these along with the towels, bath mats, tea towels, oven gloves and those lovely arm sleeves need to be placed in the plastic laundry baskets (found in the utility room). If at all possible I would be very grateful if all the bags/baskets containing these items can be left in the entrance hall-way.
In the kitchen please can you fill the dishwasher, putting everything in so it’s at capacity and set it away just as you leave.
I really appreciate your help with these requests and want to stress if you need anything extra during your stay just contact me and I will try to accommodate.
