Glencairn is a no smoking establishment and all bedrooms are ensuite with hospitality trays,freeview TV and free WiFi.
Guests have there own house keys and are free to come and go.
Glencairn also boasts a wonderful view of the harbour and yachting marina,plus the islands of Skye Rhum and Eigg, on a pleasant evening guests can sit in the garden enjoying a glass of wine and watch the ferries and fishing boats coming in and out and hopefully witness the magnificent sunsets.
We are about five minutes walk from the centre of the village where there are lovely seafood restaurants providing locally caught produce.
The train station is in the centre of the village where you can watch the Jacobite Steam train coming in and out,if you are a steam train enthusiast
you can travel by car to Glenfinnan about thirty minutes away from Mallaig to see the Jacobite cross the famous Glenfinnan viaduct shown in the Harry Potter films.
If guests would like to go to the island of Skye,there are around eight ferries a day going across to Armadale on Skye during the season,From there they can travel up to Portree the capital of Skye,popular visits on Skye are Eilean Donan castle,Dunvegan castle the Talisker Whiskey Distillery and the Fairy pools at Loch Brittle are worth a visit.
There is also the Calmac ferry Loch Nevis which goes around the Small Isles Muck,Eigg,Rhum and Canna.
Western Isles Cruises provide a daily sailing up Loch Nevis to visit the village of inverie on the Knoydart Peninsula where you can visit the
remotest pub on mainland Britain The Old Forge.
Glencairns Dining room overlooks Mallaig Harbour,where you can sit and enjoy your Full Scottish Breakfast whilst watching the boats come and go.
Fresh fruit,yogurt and cereal is also available.
