Cuil Lodge, renovated in 2016, is our 5 bedroom self-catering lodge. We re-insulated the walls, installed 2 ensuite bathrooms and a new heating system and a new kitchen.
Downstairs there is a spacious sitting room with log fire, a dining room with woodburning stove, a utility room with washing machine and pulley, a cloakroom and a new kitchen with dining area.
We have retained the original wooden panels, staircase and beams but modernised the house.
Upstairs there is a family bathroom with bath and shower, 2 ensuite double rooms, a twin and 2 single rooms.
It is perfect for a family or even 2 families.
The property has wi-fi and 3 televisions with freeview. The Cuilfail, the local pub, which serves good pub food and beer is one minutes walk away. There is a village shop next door and they will provide a box of groceries if pre-ordered.
There is a spacious pretty garden with wooden table and bench and a patio area where you can escape from the stresses of every daylife!
There are a multitude of activies in the immediate locality. You can fish for brown trout on the nearby lochs of Loch a Phearsain, Losgainn Mor, Losgainn Beag and the Still lochs.
There are plenty of walks nearby with the small hill of Bar Beag or the forestry walks near Loch Avich or Kilmartin.
You can enjoy a boat trip with Sea Life Adventures on Seil Island or with Jenni Wren in Croabh Haven.
There is the beautiful rhododendron/azelea National Trust garden 3 miles south in Arduaine or Ardmaddy Castle Walled garden on Seil Island.
You can also play squash or badminton at the Village Hall. Please book at the shop.
There are many lovely day trips - cockle picking on Crinan Ferry beach and the idyllic village of Crinan, or Seil Island and the old slate mining island of Easdale or the historic Kilmartin museum and glen with standing stones.
You can enjoy many day trips to the islands - Mull, Iona and Staff, Gigha, Arran and the local smaller islands of Kerrera, Easdale, Seil Island and Lismore.
If you want a treat we can provide breakfast for you at our local B&B, Glenmore Country House B&B, also in Kilmelford at a small charge.
A week will never be enough!
