You’ll find your very own beautifully tiled bathroom with rainhead shower, WC, and underfloor heating. In the kitchen there is a hob, oven and fridge.
Sleeping is in the gallery with a twin or superking mattress on Tatami mats.
The Schenbothies are in essence an ecolodge or Tiny Home amongst the tawny owls and woodland birds of the forest that you’ll hear. Open the large sliding doors to the south-facing balcony outside to admire the sun over the meadows and enjoy evenings by the BBQ firepit. And you’ll wake up to a delicious locally-sourced breakfast hamper.
A Scandi-Scots design inspired by Scottish timber and Scandi design: plenty of space and light, the interior is birch ply and the floors are spalted Scottish beech. Inside you may find an Arne Jacobsen classic chair or furniture by a young Scots cabinet maker.
Finished with Scottish artisan furnishings including Amy Briton tweeds, Skyeskyns sheepskin, and organic Scottish skincare products for a truly luxurious getaway. And of course a Danish Morso woodburning stove.
Built using a fabric-first approach, which emphasizes the performance of construction materials to reduce the need for building energy usage, the walls are insulated to today’s residential building standards. This makes the bothies cosier than the average UK home, which in turn ensures your stay has a lower impact on the environment.
For those looking to escape the 9 to 5 into a woodland idyll or something different in their choice of staycation, our secluded Schenbothies provide a truly special way to switch off and unwind among stunning Scottish woodlands and pastures. For guests wishing to escape the daily routine from our hectic modern lives a stay with us leaves you relaxed and recharged.
Dogs welcome and 2 or 3-course dinners, afternoon teas & cakes available to order from nearby farmshop Polly's Pantry. Private chefs for a truly bespoke Scots dining experience also available.
All-terrain TREK bicycles available for hire: from the traffic-free Sustrans NCN764 which runs through the centre of the estate you can access road, woodland, and hill routes to a variety of historic, farmshop, or touring destinations.
We also offer a guided wildlife & history tour, no-dig tree planting, pollinator assessments and bat walks as part of our 10-year wildlife plan.
