Rosybank is a very comfortable and spacious cottage on the Coldstream bank of the Tweed in the town's conservation area. Rosybank has been restored with style and has full central heating and double glazing. Less than two minutes takes you to the river and, the other way, to Coldstream Museum with its displays about the Coldstream Guards, the town distillery, the former British Prime Minister who lived in Coldstream and loads of other fascinating things!
Rosybank Cottageis equipped to the highest standards and has a comfortable, open plan lounge, dining area and kitchen. The lounge has two comfy sofas and a Smart TV. WiFi is free of charge. The antique dining table is laid for dinner. In the kitchen area guests will find all the normal cooking equipment including dishwasher. fridge and freezer, full oven and hob and microwave.
By the front door with storage for coats there is a cloakroom with toilet and hand basin, which is decorated with old pictures of the Coldstream Guards.
Up the oak stairs are two bedrooms each with a very modern walk in wet room. The larger bedroom is spacious and has a modern king size four poster and a second Smart TV. There is a small sofa too.This bedroom has two antique wardrobes with "shabby chique" finish. The ensuite wet room has a view across the courtyard and the old orchard. The walk in shower is fully tiles and has a rain head and a flexible head for luxury bathing. The heated towl rail keeps the towels warm and inviting and there is under floor heating ready for the colder months.The second bedroom has a king size bed and modern hanging space. This room has a newly created window seat looking out to the Tweed and storage underneath for clothes.. There is a second ensuite wet room with space saving sliding door and a vanity unit and fully tiled shower area. Again there is a heated towel rail and underfloor heating. Both bedrooms have super views over the Tweed.
Throughout the cottage take a moment to look at the many vintage postcards that are displayed on the walls.
Towels, bedlinen, organic hand made soaps are included in the price. A delightful Welcome Basket is provided and usually includes freshly laid eggs from a local farm, local beer, shortbread and our own home made jam or local honey. Two pets are welcome and receive their own treats, poo bags and dog towels. There is a charge for a second pet.
At the rear there is a small courtyard with seating and drying area. A shed houses a bbq for guests's use.
Parking is on the river bank or in the historic Market Square close by.
The town of Coldstream has a traditional High Street, with a selection of restaurants, cafes and take aways shops. There is a great local butcher and baker. Call in at the White Fox Gallery for crafts and local paintings. Walks by the river are at the front door or there are lovely parkland walks around the Hirsel nearby with its tea room and craft shops. Golf is available ten minutes walk away, tennis, and, of course, fishing by arrangement. Ford and Etal villages with steam train and historic castle make a great day out and is only a short drive away. The historic market town of Kelso also has a good range of shops. Berwickshire and Northumberland boast fine sandy beaches and most are dog friendly
