Itinerary

Day 1:

Meet in Inverness early afternoon and travel northwest into the heart of Wester Ross where we will be based for three nights. On the way we hope to see our first Golden Eagles, Black-throated Divers and Whooper Swans as well as some spectacular mountain scenery. Night in Gairloch.

Days 2-3:

Over two days we will explore the sealochs and headlands of Wester Ross. This area is not only stunning but home to a superb variety of wildlife from White-tailed Eagles to Harbour Porpoises, Black-throated and Great Northern Divers to Otters. The meadows should be ablaze with colour and we will also delve into the fascinating coastal habitats on the seashore. The hills are home to Golden Eagles, Hen Harrier and Red Deer not to mention a plethora of carnivorous plants.

A highlight will be a boat trip out into the Minch where we will search for Common Dolphins and Minke Whales and also have the chance of Humpback Whale. Nearby the Shiant Islands are a haven for seabirds and we expect to see Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbill, Black Guillemot and Manx Shearwater. Nights Gairloch.

Day 4:

Today we will relocate over to Skye, the most spectacular of the Hebrides. On our way we will have the full day to explore the exciting mountain reserve of Beinn Eighe as well as Applecross Pass before crossing over the bridge to Skye. Night Skye.

Days 5-7:

We will have three full days to enjoy the islands of Skye and Raasay. Skye boasts the most alpine of all Scotland’s peaks showcased in the remarkable Cuillin range, a crescent of towering mountains. The island is home to an incredible number of breeding Golden and White-tailed Eagles which inhabit the remote peaks and inaccessible coast. We will enjoy exploring the island including the fascinating Coral beach, Neist Point (which is an excellent place to spot cetaceans), Talisker, Waternish, Trotternish and more. We will take a boat out of Portree from where we hope to see White-tailed Eagles, Harbour Porpoise and Common Dolphins and jaw-dropping views of the sea cliffs. One day will be spent exploring the rarely visited island of Raasay. Nights Skye.

Day 8:

Tour will conclude back in Inverness around late-morning.
